Who Should Attend

Those who aspire to lead others at the next level or above and have proven themselves in the skills of basic supervision. Also, those already leaders of departments, units or significant groups of people that are interested in enhancing their leadership awareness and impact on organization performance.

Workshop Overview

In developing effective leaders in today's rapidly changing world, developing perspective and focus is critical to a leader's long-term success. Focus in many organizations is directed toward immediate performance goals and not inclusive of longer-term individual leadership development goals.

Heightened self-awareness helps leaders leverage their natural strengths and helps them find ways to address their developmental areas in a positive, productive way. In turn, enhanced self-awareness gained through perspective building tools helps leaders understand and adapt their behaviors to rapidly changing circumstances and develop effective strategies for leading their associates. This workshop includes insight given on leadership preferences using the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) philosophy.

Participants Will Learn How To:

  • Describe and define the personal attributes of successful leaders (e.g., effective communication, customer focus, influencing others, learning continuously, emotional intelligence, driving for results, thinking strategically, etc.)
  • Personalize a "leadership vision" and link it to their personal and organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Understand key leadership success factors and potential leadership career derailers.
  • Complete a personal learning journal and create an action plan for applying workshop learning.
  • Identify areas for improvement and set developmental goals.
