Coping with Imposter Syndrome

This workshop will help participants understand imposter syndrome, or deep and persistent feelings of not believing you deserve the job, position, or accolades you have received. Racial, cultural, gender, and other identity-related dynamics will be explored alongside recommendations of how to cope with imposter syndrome.

This workshop is open to Fordham students and parents. Participants will learn about the source of common miscommunications, emotional health issues, and tensions that arise between parents and college-age children, and will be taught communication skills to help make conversations more productive and validating for families. Special attention will be given to first generation college student issues, immigrant family stressors, and common class and cultural issues that affect family communication.
