Rose Hill Virtual Communities: Summer Engagement

Welcome to Fordham University! We have some great opportunities to share to assist with connecting with the Fordham community throughout the summer and into the fall semester. The links below will share information regarding each program at the Rose Hill Campus and additional opportunities will be added to this page throughout the summer. If you have any general questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Undergraduate Academic Advising and Gabelli SMART

Undergraduate Academic Advising and Gabelli SMART. GABELLI SMART is a community-driven program that will introduce you to your personal resource team for the summer, which is made up of alumni, faculty, upper-class student leaders, and academic and professional advisors. The program will also help you develop a strong skill set to be a successful Gabelli School of Business student. To culminate GABELLI SMART, you will work within a small group called a neighborhood to create an Instagram story that shows what it means to be a successful Gabelli School student.

Urban Plunge

Urban Plunge provides students with a 3-day virtual intensive orientation to the core values of the University through direct engagement with the Bronx and New York City communities.

OMA Virtual Summer Takeovers

This Summer the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is working with our six cultural committees to share content and resources on the OMA page and their individual committee IG pages. Every week a different committee along with the respective Cultural Programming Coordinators (CPCs) will be highlighted. If you missed a week, you can always review the various posts and if you are looking to get involved, some of the committees still have open positions!

Global Transition

Global Transition is a program to welcome undergraduate international students to Fordham and help with adjustment to the first days and weeks here. During Global Transition, new students will have the opportunity to meet and get to know other international students from all over the world, attend important and helpful information sessions, and engage in some fun activities/events. During Global Transition, you will also be able to ask current Fordham students all the questions you may have about life at Fordham.

Virtual Summer Send Offs

Every summer, Fordham partners with local parents and alumni to host Summer Send-Off receptions around the country. This year, Summer Send-Offs will take place online, via Zoom. These events are an opportunity to welcome all new students to the Fordham community and for you to get to know other students and families in your region. You’ll also have a chance to hear from Rambassadors, local alumni chapter leaders, current parents, the Office of Alumni Relations, and other campus partners.

RamCraft

Interested in taking part in a student design project for outreach and community building? With the help of current students and the Communication and Media Studies (CMS) department, the Fordham 'RamCraft' project will be a virtual reconstruction of our campuses in Minecraft! You will have an opportunity to take part, explore, and even volunteer! By the time you are ready to graduate, you can share two fully realized campus experiences as a commemoration of your Fordham journey. If you are interested, please complete the provided survey. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Vicari at [email protected].

Magis Minute Series

Fordham's Ignatian identity calls us to be contemplatives in action. The Magis Minute series invites students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and community partners to discuss Jesuit mission and education at Fordham through brief video reflections. How does Fordham's mission invite you to engage with the issues of our time? How does being part of a Jesuit university inform who you are? How do you hope to set the world on fire? Join members of the University community as they reflect on these questions and more. The Magis Minute series is a joint project between Campus Ministry and Development and University Relations.
