Virtual Open House

Build Your Ideal Virtual Open House Visit, Block by Block

Designed for high school seniors (but open to anyone), Fordham's Virtual Open House weekend is our most comprehensive event of the fall, providing the most content and the most ways to engage live with Fordham students, faculty, and staff. It's your chance to explore Fordham by building a program—unique and specific to you—from a number of offerings during different blocks.

Let us know you're joining us online.

  • Students interested in our Lincoln Center (Manhattan) campus should register for the LC Open House on Saturday, October 17, 2020.
  • Students interested in our Rose Hill (Bronx) campus should register for the RH Open House on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
  • To explore both of our campuses virtually, register for both days/campuses.
  • Students, parents, and other guests can stay together or attend different sessions. Upon registration, the student can share their access link.

Connect with us live—here's how.

All our live content will be offered during six blocks. Attend a session in every block or join us when you can. (*Although, if you can only join us for one block, come for our president's welcome address. See more below.)

You can build your ideal Open House, block by block, starting at 11 a.m. EDT. You'll get an access link at that time, which you can use to connect to any session during the day. Most sessions will be hosted through Zoom, though attendees won't ever be on camera or mic.

On our event website, we'll also share on-demand videos, pre-recorded presentations, and other content. And, after Open House weekend, we'll post recordings of our live sessions.

Though the content is targeted to a specific campus (Lincoln Center on Saturday, Rose Hill on Sunday), the schedule is the same for both days. All times are listed in Eastern Daylight Time.

Learn more about each block below, including the final list of focused tours and information session topics.

Focused Virtual Tours

During our Focused Virtual Tours, you'll watch our campus come to life from afar as you hear our students talk about specific facilities and programs in and around our campuses. The focused tour topics for both days* are:

  • Lincoln Center (LC) Campus
  • Rose Hill (RH) Campus
  • STEM
  • Liberal Arts
  • Business
  • Performing & Visual Arts
  • Student Life (Traditions, Activities, Jobs/Internships)
  • Our Neighborhoods (Living on Campus, Commuting, Around Campus)
  • Athletics (Varsity, Club, Intramural) [*October 18 Only]

These tours are hosted by at least two of our current students. As they share their screen and show you images and videos relating to the theme of your chosen tour, you'll have the opportunity to chat with them and have your questions answered. They're going to be telling you their best stories about their favorite parts of Fordham. It's one of the best chances of the day to hear directly from our students.

President's Welcome Address

At past Open Houses, attendees told us that our President's Welcome Address was their favorite part. Father McShane is a dynamic speaker! Not only will he tell you what Fordham is all about, he'll also encourage you and help you see how it's possible to conduct a successful college search. If you can only attend one part of Open House, this should be it.

Information Sessions

We'll offer more than 50 information sessions -- see the list below! Covering everything from advising to our most popular majors, student support services to clubs and activities, these sessions will provide a chance to dig deeper into your areas of interest or to shop around if you're undecided.

You'll hear from our college deans, faculty members, administrators, and current students. While some information sessions will include formal presentations, at least half the time will be spent answering questions live from attendees like you.

Each information session will be offered three times (covering the same content each time), so you can attend more sessions and not miss anything. If you're interested in a topic not covered live, we'll have all kinds of on-demand content and ways for you to get the information you need.

Information Desk

What's the average class size? Can you change your major? How can you log in to a session? Whatever your questions, we'll be glad to connect with you. Throughout Virtual Open House, admission counselors will be available to answer your questions live. And you'll be able to see our answers to previously asked questions.

If you'd like a general overview of Fordham, including details about our application process, this is a great place to stop by. While we're answering your questions, we'll also continuously play a recording of our overview presentation (it's what we use for our daily Virtual Information Sessions).

Ram Chat

Want to talk with a current Fordham student? Throughout Virtual Open House, our ambassadors will be available to answer your questions live. You can ask them anything that's on your mind!
