April 15th, 2023: Fordham Volunteer Activation

In an exciting collaboration, The Center for Community Engaged Learning at Fordham University partners with Partnerships for Parks, a public-private partnership between City Parks Foundation and NYC Parks that supports neighborhood volunteers by providing the tools needed to advocate and care for neighborhood parks and green spaces.

On Saturday, April 15th, in anticipation of Earth Week 2023, we are activating the Fordham Community to engage at Poe Park (<- click for Google map), located in the immediate vicinity on Grand Concourse between E. 192 St. and, E Kingsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10458 (ten minutes walking distance from Fordham University).

Sign-up to volunteer. Different shifts and activities are available. Be prepared to start or finish your volunteering activities with dance lessons by the local community organization ORISHA. You will be provided with all the necessary materials. The meeting location is the visitor center (follow the link for the exact location). All participants must register and sign online waivers with NYC Parks through this link to volunteer.
