Institutional Grant Preparation Fund
Proposals are solicited for support for the Institutional Grant Preparation Fund, effective July 1, 2020. The fund will support professional development activities by a tenured or tenure-track faculty member who is preparing a proposal for an institutional grant. Funded preparation activities include data collection, literature review writing, meeting with program officers, participation in grant workshops, grant writing, external partnership collaboration, travel, and employing student assistants.
The fund will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The awardee will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 per academic year. The award can be shared by more than one PI, but the maximum dollar amount for one project is limited to $5,000.
The institutional grant proposal must meet four conditions.
1) The proposal must be for a federal grant. Individual research or teaching grants will not be considered for this funding;
2) The grant must provide indirect costs;
3) The proposal must be for an institutional and University mission-related grant in line with CUSP priorities;
4) The minimum proposed budget must be more than $1 million in direct costs.
Applications for the Institutional Grant Preparation Fund may be sent via email to Dr. George Hong at [email protected]. Requests should include the applicant's name, a brief explanation of the use of the funds, and the RFP.
