While Career Development at the Gabelli School of Business features personalized coaching through our career advisors and Alumni in Residence, it is also recommended that you utilize a variety of methods to gain an understanding of the job market; learn about best practices for interviewing; assess you interests and talents and how they relate to potential careers; and refine your resume to ensure it reflects the skills and knowledge that hiring managers seek.

  • CareerPath is our Career Services Management portal where you can search and apply for jobs, schedule career advising appointments, register for events, report your jobs and internships, and more.

  • Big Interview (see entry in CareerPath Resource Library for the organization code needed to register) creates a learning experience for students that prepares them for real-world scenarios job seekers face every day. It goes beyond “interview advice,” providing users with the tools and feedback they need to compete and succeed in today’s evolving job market. No ordinary training course, Big Interview allows you to benefit from mock interviews that are tailored to your specific industry, job preferences, and experience level. Learn interview basics, while gaining an understanding of how to ace common and behavioral interview questions.

  • Career Leader is a self-assessment tool for business students like you. It is based on more than 50 collective years of scientific research and career development experience, and is designed to:

    • Provide expert assessments of your unique pattern of business-relevant interests, skills, and motivators.
    • Match you to specific business-related careers when compared to a database of hundreds of thousands of business professionals.
    • Help you to understand what organizational cultures will be the best fit for you.

    You can take the assessment exams twice during your enrollment.

  • Artificial intelligence is changing the way we do business and the way people are creating their resumes. VMock is an automated resume preparation system that empowers you to create your CV using the latest technologies, getting feedback to perfect the critical information you send to employers. PLEASE NOTE: Before you can access this amazing tool, you must be pre-registered in VMock by our office.

    Once you are registered, you can create a resume from scratch or upload an existing resume (must be in PDF format). To convert a resume from MS Word to PDF:

    1. Open the completed resume in Microsoft Word.
    2. Click on File and then select ‘Save As’.
    3. When the ‘Save As’ window opens, in the drop-down menu next to ‘Save as type:’, select “PDF(*.pdf)”, “Best for printing” and click on ‘Save’, or you can also use pdfonline.com/convert-pdf to convert.
