  • Here, you’ll learn by doing. With hands-on opportunities in the media capital of the world, you’ll be able to gain the skills and experiences employers seek. And in addition to the big city energy of New York, you’ll have a tight-knit, supportive campus community, eager for you to thrive. As a design and technology major, you’ll join the next generation of digital leaders.

  • This major will give you a solid foundation across design, media, business, and technology fields. You’ll go beyond the fundamentals through courses like Art, Design, and Politics, where you’ll examine how art is used as a form of social activism, or Data Visualization and Representation, where you’ll learn how to build tools to help people understand how data impacts their everyday lives.

  • Besides positions at Fordham publications like The Ram and The Observer or at WFUV, our NPR-affiliate station, students have interned for ABC, Madison Square Garden, The New York Times, Spectrum News NY1, and more.

  • When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for careers in a range of areas including PR and marketing, digital media, web design, and publishing, to name a few.

  • At Fordham, you’ll use AI as a tool to enhance your learning. Our program will equip you with the skills to navigate the ever-changing landscape of AI in the workforce. As a design and technology major, you might use AI to enhance user experience and interaction, preparing you for high-growth roles in AI-driven web design. 

    You’ll also be able to earn credentials and paid micro-internships through IBM SkillsBuild’s Getting Started with AI course. All Fordham students and graduates have access to AI training through RamConnect, the University’s alumni and experiential learning platform.

    Above all, you’ll learn skills that can’t be replaced by AI, such as critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence and integrity.
