How to Apply to the Summer Leaders Academy
Course information and dates for Summer 2025 are now available. Updates will be made on a rolling basis until our application is available in December. Thank you.
Application Deadlines
- April 14: Resident Application Deadline
- May 14: Resident Registration Consents, Deposits, and Medical Forms Due
- May 14: Commuter Application Deadline for Intensive 1
- May 30: Commuter Application Deadline for Intensives 2 and 3
- June 12: Commuter Registration Consents and Deposits Due
Credit-Bearing Courses
Credit-bearing courses are primarily for rising high school seniors with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better. Rising juniors may apply with a letter of recommendation in addition to the documents below.
To apply, you will need:
- an analytical writing sample from a class
- an unofficial copy of your high school transcript
- your fall report card if the grades are not reflected on your transcript
- If you are applying for housing, you will need a brief letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor attesting to your academic performance, personal attributes (including work ethic and conduct), and ability to live responsibly on campus.
Non-Credit Courses
Non-credit courses are open to high school students who have completed their freshman year. Courses are recommended for those with a 3.0 or better. No prior experience with the subject matter is required.
To apply, you will need:
- an unofficial copy of your high school transcript.
- your fall report card if the grades are not reflected on your transcript.
- If you are applying for housing, you will need a brief letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor attesting to your academic performance, personal attributes (including work ethic and conduct), and ability to live responsibly on campus.
- If you are applying for the Musical Theatre Workshop, an audition song is required.
