Conrad, by the grace of God, King of the Romans. We grant to Wicbold, Abbot of Corvey, and to his successors, regularly ordained, forever, the veins of metal, namely, of gold, silver, copper, lead, and tin, and all wealth, either wrought or unwrought, which lies within the mountain of Eresberg, which is known to be lawfully within the possession of Corvey. And through you, Wicbold, we grant those metals to the church of Corvey, and by this present charter grant and confirm that you and your successors shall be allowed, without hindrance by any one, to mine for all metal which may be found there, to take it away and smelt it, and to adapt it freely to your own use, and to the uses of the brethren, so that the church of Corvey might so much the better serve in things pertaining to God and to our kingdom.
