Ravazzin Center

The Henry C. Ravazzin Center on Aging was established in 1995 under the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service. Former Dean Mary Ann Quaranta worked with then University President Fr. Joseph A. O’Hare and administration to start the Center, with Dr. Irene Gutheil serving as its first Endowed Chair. Dr. Janna Heyman was appointed the Endowed Chair in 2015, spearheading efforts to expand the Center’s work across the life span to add intergenerational studies. It is now known as the Henry C. Ravazzin Center on Aging and Intergenerational Studies.

The Henry C. Ravazzin Center on Aging and Intergenerational Studies empowers students, professionals, and communities to address the needs of older adults and their families through practice, policy, and research. The Center focuses on practices and policies across the lifespan with an emphasis towards promoting social justice. It has a history of partnering with community organizations to enhance their research and evaluation efforts. The Center’s work focuses on the following areas:
