From March 24 through 28, GSAS hosted a week-long series of events designed to introduce new incoming students to a number of University resources, answer questions about next steps, and provide insight into the Fordham graduate student experience.

This session uncovers the hidden curriculum of graduate school. Have you ever wondered how to submit a conference abstract? Secure an internship? Getting involved on campus as a graduate student? Come and learn from graduate student leaders about important elements of the graduate school process that will set you up for success.

International students, this one's for you! Hear from OIS and GSAS Admissions and learn all about how you can secure your student visa as soon as possible. In this session, we will cover how you can request a student visa and all the documentation you need to submit in order to receive your I-20.

Featured guest speaker: Delasia Rice, Graduate School Specialist and Career Counselor

Meet a career counselor from the Career Center and hear about the valuable resources they provide for our graduate students. In this session you will learn how to navigate the Handshake platform, attend career fairs, participate in professional development and networking opportunities and more. Their dedicated staff will assist you with your career goals and questions about how to achieve them.

In this session you will learn tips and tricks about living in NYC, including navigating public transit, resources and best practices for finding a place to live off campus, how to meet roommates, and so much more! If you're moving to New York for the first time, you don't want to miss this session!

Funding Resources to Explore
Featured guest speaker: Office of Financial Services

Learn about the many funding resources you can explore here at Fordham and beyond. This session reviews information about federal aid, payment plans, and graduate loans from one of Fordham’s Graduate Financial Aid representatives. GSAS Admissions provides examples of additional funding resources to support the cost of your graduate education.

Meet the Graduate Student Council (GSC)

The GSC is a student-led association that advocates on behalf of all GSAS student needs and concerns.
