GSAS Diploma Ceremony
The 2024 University Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 18, at the Rose Hill Campus.
All graduates are welcome and encouraged to join the University Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Edwards Parade.
The GSAS Diploma Ceremony will take place outdoors on the University Church Lawn at approximately 12:15 pm. Guest tickets are not required to attend the outdoor ceremony. There is no guest minimum if the ceremony is held outdoors.
In the instance of severe weather conditions, the Diploma Ceremony will take place inside the University Church, and graduates will be permitted to bring no more than two guests to the ceremony. In this instance, guests will require tickets.
GSAS will provide information to students in the coming months regarding how to claim guest tickets for severe weather conditions.

Cap and Gown Pick-up Information
Your cap and gown will be available at the events listed below, but only at the campus selected while ordering. Be sure to bring your email confirmation along with your student ID card.
Please keep in mind that your student account must be paid in full or appropriate arrangements made before picking up your cap and gown. Also, you must have applied online to graduate through my.fordham.edu or have the permission of your dean.
If you did not preorder your gown online, you may still attend the pick-up events and receive a cap and gown on a first-come, first-served basis.
Master’s candidates are given keeper gowns and therefore do not return academic attire. All doctoral rental gowns must be returned following the ceremonies.

Diploma Ceremony Photographs
The best opportunities for individual photographs are at the Diploma Ceremony. There will also be a professional photographer at the Diploma Ceremony who will photograph the graduates. Students will receive proofs from the photographer and may order prints directly from the company.
Island Photography will take a photograph of each graduate in front of the GSAS banner on the altar. Doctoral graduates will also have a photograph taken when they are being hooded by their mentor. Island Photography has developed an online registration page to make it quick and convenient for family to view photos. If you would like to receive a direct link to the photos, visit the Island Photography website to register. You may register several email addresses to allow all of your family and friends to receive a direct link to this event. Images will be posted within 72 hours of the ceremony. All inquiries should be made to Island Photography at 800-869-0908. Purchase is optional.

A former congressman and a career public servant, Kennedy is the U.S. special envoy to Northern Ireland for economic affairs and grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, who gave his own Fordham commencement address in 1967 while serving as a U.S. senator from New York. Read more
