Carol Conklin-Spillane, M.S. (’84 ELAP) has been appointed superintendent of the Pocantico Hills school district.

Kathleen F. Malu, Ph.D. (’93 PES) has been awarded her second Fulbright Scholarship award. In 2016-17, Dr. Malu will be a Fulbright Scholar in the U.K. at the School for Oriental and African Studies, one of the world's most prestigious language schools.

Father John Sureau, Ph.D., (’12 ELAP) and GSE Professor Emeritus Dr. Bruce Cooper’s publication, “The politics of homeschooling: New developments, new challenges,” was the 9th most read article in Educational Policy in September 2016.

Alex Corbitt, M.S.T. (’13 C&T), and John Maldonado a CLAIR doctoral student, were named to the ILA’s second annual “30 Under 30” list for their efforts to advance literacy for all, an honor bestowed to teachers, authors, volunteers, researchers, social entrepreneurs, and leaders from 12 countries.
Kathleen Landy, Ed.D. (’13 ELAP) was has a new position as the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Teaching & Learning at Queensborough Community College in Bayside, NY.
Catherine Knight, Ed.D. (’13 ELAP) has been named coordinator of public information for the Garden City Public Schools and the 2016 The New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) Communicator of the Year.
Marc Steinmetz, Ph.D. (’13 PES) presented with GSE Professors Houtz and Selby on “Problem Solving Style and Spiritual Preferences” at the October meeting of the Northeast Educational Research Association in Trumbull, CT.
Mary Skinner-Stone, Ph.D. (’13 PES) recently published "An executive function account for a utilization deficiency among preschoolers: Developmental trends and individual differences" with GSE Professors Blumberg and Cancelli in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology. She is an Assistant Professor at Marist College.
