International Students

Fordham University encourages applications from international students. Students are recommended to apply early, to allow extra time for international mail and preparation of visa documents.

All official transcripts from previously attended post-secondary institutions must be submitted in English, or with a certified English translation. Transcripts and credentials conversion could be submitted to one of the following for evaluation:

Additional Information - Common Applicant Questions:

I received financial aid and don't know how to complete the payroll forms that I received.  What do I do?

Fill out only what you can.  When you arrive at Fordham please visit the Office of Academic Programs and Support (Keating 216) where you will receive instructions.  The deadlines in these specific forms do not apply to foreign students.

My acceptance letter requires, as an admit condition, that I take ESL language testing and possible courses by the Institute of American Language and Culture. What do I do?

Before you can be matriculated, you must complete the test of English as a Second Language (ESL) and test at a required level.  To accomplish this, please visit the Institute of American Language and Culture’s website at www.fordham.edu/esl.  There you will have access to the Institute’s programs and contact information.

For students who have been given an ESL condition for the fall semester, the Fordham English Language Test (FELT) will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 for a group of GSAS students. The test will be given at the Institute of American Language and Culture (IALC) located at 45 Columbus Ave, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10023 at 9 a.m. For more information you may call the office at 212 636-6353.

Please review the essay writing process to prepare for the test.
