GSAS Graduate Student Council Women in Academia

This group was formed in response to the current global landscape of gender inequity for women in academia. Our mission is the advancement of women both within and outside of the Fordham community through education, advocacy and discussion. Educational initiatives will deepen our understanding of the current challenges faced by women in academia as well as the prospects and strategies for moving forward. Through open dialogue we will explore solutions to issues faced by women in academia and about where reforms are needed.

The Women in Academia group is open to all graduate students and faculty, regardless of gender. We view collaboration amongst those in all stages of their academic career, as well as collaboration amongst all genders in the Fordham community, as critical aspects of working toward a collegiate environment that is to the benefit of all.
