LGBTQ+

This group was formed in response to inequity for LGBTQ+ people in the world and in academia. Our mission is the advancement of LGBTQ+ people both within and outside of the Fordham community through education, advocacy and discussion. Educational initiatives will deepen our understanding of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people in academia as well as the prospects and strategies for moving forward. Our group will provide a group for graduate students in order to serve the specific needs of graduate students that are distinct from the needs of undergraduate students and faculty. Through open dialogue we will explore solutions to issues faced by LGBTQ+ people in academia and about where reforms are needed, as well as provide a support space for LGBTQ+ people as we move through the challenges of our graduate programs.

The Fordham Graduate Student LGBTQ+ Group is open to all graduate students regardless of sexual and gender identity.
