School of Law Diversity Initiatives

Lsa diversity lunch

Fordham Law was founded to expand opportunity for those who had traditionally been excluded from the legal profession. At the same time, we have significantly more work to do—especially now—and we are committed to ensuring that all of our students, especially those from underrepresented communities, experience a learning environment that is supportive and free from bias.

Moving forward requires deep reflection on our past and thoughtful collaboration on building a strong community that is  racially just and inclusive. To this end, we have adopted an Anti-Racism Action Plan with the goals of:

We define diversity broadly while also focusing on those who are underrepresented in the legal profession because of their race, color, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, and socioeconomic status.

Through a range of diversity programs, we are focused on promoting justice and the full participation in the life of the School of all members of the Fordham Law community. Our efforts include a wide range of initiatives organized by the administration, faculty, centers and institutes, students, and organizations. In addition, through our pipeline programs and partnerships with professional associations, we are working to expand the diversity of the legal profession.

Our ultimate goal is to foster an inclusive community and atmosphere where people of all backgrounds are welcomed, able to express their views, and thrive.
