"Marymount was located on a beautiful campus overlooking the Hudson River. It was an all- women’s college, allowing us to concentrate on our studies and be ourselves. The faculty and the RSHM nuns were so nurturing, and fun too! Marymount entered into consolidation with Fordham in 2000 and it was later closed in 2007. Alumnae of the school continue to be engaged by Fordham."

Fordham prepared me for life after graduation in two major ways. First, the core curriculum taught me that even with a specific interest (like a major in Business Administration), I should stay curious and open to new ideas. Courses like Banned Books, Buddhist Meditation, and even a Composition class on Hipsters expanded my perspective and are still courses I think about to this day as a reminder to remain intellectually open. Second, Fordham taught me how to thrive not just as a student, but as a New Yorker. I learned how to navigate the subway, catch a matinee, take the Staten Island Ferry for the best view of the Statue of Liberty, and treat pizza as its own food group.

"It sounds cliche, but I did utilize the proximity to Manhattan to get as much real life experience as I could, which meant having an internship almost every semester/summer. Even when Fordham's policy almost didn't allow me to have an internship, I look back on that experience of determination and resilience that was required in order to get what I want as a skill that I still use today. Every time I'm in a job search process or need to get in touch with a source or a vendor, I'm reminded to use every possible form of communication or connection to get in touch with the contact I need. I also really enjoyed and credit my leadership roles on Mode Magazine and Lambda Pi Eta (the communications honor society) as experiences that have prepared me for roles in my professional life. I also enjoyed my journalism classes and wish that I could go back to get even more writing knowledge out of them."

"Professor Robert Hume teaches what pre-law students love to call “con law light” and it was. You read real Supreme Court cases and have to write a brief at the end of the class arguing like you are arguing an issue in front of the Supreme Court. I learned how to brief cases and was ahead of my law school classmates."
