At a time when religion’s role in American life is both praised and contested, Fordham’s Center on Religion and Culture (CRC) explores the complex relationship between faith and contemporary life.
Through public events and conversations with experts and artists, scholars and faith leaders, the CRC seeks to engage and elevate the public dialogue about religion and culture, the mind and the soul, inclusion and identity, politics, and the arts.
The CRC is hosting a full slate of in-person and online events in the 2026-2027 academic year.

NYC Premiere: Welcome Space Brothers
Join director Jodi Wille for the NYC premiere of her new film, Welcome Space Brothers.
UFO’s and extraterrestrials are all the rage as the government declassifies secret files and movies and television are producing new dramas about human contact with alien life.
But we have been here before!
WELCOME SPACE BROTHERS dives into the extraordinary true story of the Unarius Academy of Science, an extraterrestrial-channeling spiritual school founded in El Cajon in the 1970s. Led by the dazzlingly outlandish Ruth E. Norman—revered as "Archangel Uriel"—Unarius evolved into a wildly inventive public-access television phenomenon. The group produced films that appeared to be elaborately campy space epics yet were, at their core, sincere therapeutic works.
A talkback with the director and Unariun Kevin Kennedy will follow the screening.
