Before the start of classes, first-year students participate in an academic orientation program that eases their transition to college study. These important programs are an opportunity to:

  • Meet the faculty, advisers, and deans who will help you achieve your college goals
  • Learn about important academic policies, programs, and requirements
  • Get an overview of the curriculum and course requirements
  • Attend the Common Reading orientation event and lecture
  • Discuss the Common Reading with your faculty adviser and other students
  • Be Introduced to Fordham traditions, such as the Alma Mater
  • Participate in First Year Convocation
