Fall New Student Orientation at Rose Hill

Our three-day fall Orientation program is mandatory for all new students. Families are invited to campus on:

  • Sunday, August 23 for resident move-in and commuter check-in.
  • Academic Day and Student Life Day, held on Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25 respectively, introducing new students to different aspects of academics and activities offered at Fordham which will enhance their college experience.

Resident students move-in to campus on Sunday, August 23. Move-in times will be distributed by the Office of Residential Life in the month of August.

Commuting students will have their first mandatory activities beginning on Sunday, August 23 in the early afternoon.

Families are welcome and invited to be present on Sunday, August 23rd until 6 p.m., at which point families will be asked to depart as the student-specific programming will begin.

7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Resident Students Move In
All residents move in based on their time assignments.
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Information Table
Orientation Leaders will be available all day to answer any questions about Fordham and Orientation. Please see them on Hughes Hall Patio.
9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Coffee and Conversation
Meet members of Fordham's administration and staff while taking a break and enjoying light refreshments on O'Hare Lawn.
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Enrollment Area Offices Open
Staff from Financial Aid will be available to answer questions in the Thebaud Modular Offices.
10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student Services Resource Fair
A variety of university offices will be available to answer questions on O'Hare Lawn.
1 p.m. - 3:30 pm. Commuter Student Registration and Commuter Hub
Enjoy refreshments and activities with your fellow commuter students, while receiving your Fordham IDs and essential orientation information on Hughes Hall Patio & Lawn.
1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Afternoon Social with the Fordham Community
Take a break and meet members of Fordham's administration and staff while enjoying light snacks on O'Hare Lawn.
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Hughes Hall Meet-and-Greet with Tours Students and families can get to know the Gabelli administrators and faculty, as well as take a tour of the state-of-the-art building.
1 p.m. Student Athlete Reception
This session, for freshmen varsity athletes and their parents, will provide insight into the Fordham student athlete experience.
2 p.m. Multicultural Reception
Please come enjoy some refreshments and meet the Office of Multicultural Affairs staff as we welcome all new students in McGinley 237.
3 p.m. Fordham Families 101
Join John Carrol, Associate Vice President of Public Safety, and Christopher Rodgers, Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students, for advice for students and families on transition and safety in Fordham Preparatory School's Leonard Theatre.
4 p.m. President's Address
Come hear the Rev. Joseph M. McShane, SJ, president of Fordham, welcome our new students to the Fordham Family in Fordham Preparatory School's Leonard Theatre.
5 p.m. New Student Welcome Mass
Families are welcomed into the Fordham community with a liturgy celebrated by the Rev. Joseph M. McShane, SJ, President of Fordham on University Church Lawn.
6:30 p.m. Farewell to Families
We respectfully ask families to depart at this time so that students can attend small group meetings.
