Sapientia et Doctrina Lecture Series

The founding spirit of Fordham University, expressed in the Latin motto Sapientia et Doctrina (Wisdom and Learning), emphasizes rigorous scholarship and lively intellectual exchange in the service of others.

In this spirit, we have launched a lecture series to commemorate Fordham's Dodransbicentennial, our 175th anniversary, and to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of three of our graduate schools: Arts and Sciences, Education, and Social Service.

Throughout the academic year, the Sapientia et Doctrina Lectures will highlight distinguished speakers who seek to bring wisdom and learning to bear on some of the world's most pressing problems.
