Furniture rental partnership- Wilshire Plaza apartments are unfurnished. Fordham University is proud to partner with AFR Furniture Rental, which offers furniture packages for both studio and one-bedroom floor plans. AFR can deliver and set up furniture on your scheduled move-in date, reducing the hassle and cost of furnishing your apartment upon arrival. Once assigned an apartment, you can order a furniture package online at fordhamstudents.rentfurniture.com.

Wilshire Plaza offers security for your personal safety. The building also has a comprehensive fire-safety system, including sprinklers and control panel with a public address system.
There is an attendant at the lobby front desk 24/7, where mail is accepted for the residents. There is a phone in each apartment connected to the front desk for all guests or deliveries, which need to be given permission to enter and you must be present for in your apartment.
The Graduate Housing program is currently managed by our Graduate Housing Manager who works with residents regarding the day-to-day operations of housing services as well as the application process for new applicants. [email protected]The Graduate Hall Manager is responsible for overseeing 89 apartments at our off-campus housing complex Wilshire Plaza on West 58th Street. Wilshire Plaza housing is available for any full-time graduate or law student at Fordham University.
Chrishane, a Chicago native, holds an MA in Counseling from Northwestern University, a BA in Psychology from Boston University, and is currently a Counseling Ph.D., Candidate in the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University. She has a passion for mental health, social justice, and engaging with students. Chrishane has experience in residence life at both the secondary and post-secondary education levels and is excited to be a part of the Fordham Community!
Housing rates for the 2026-2027 academic year
Residents of Wilshire Plaza are responsible for setting up and paying for their own internet, cable, and telephone connections. Approximate cost is $50/month for power, one-time phone setup $75, and cable TV $35/month. These services are arranged directly between residents and the service providers, so rates may change.
Occupancy periods generally run for the academic year (Mid August - Mid May) with options for summer and succeeding years, relative to the individual student's enrollment status.

Please be aware that all of our apartments are occupied in Wilshire Plaza. Due to this, we are unable to conduct tours at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the graduate housing manager, at [email protected] or call 646-773-1936 for more information.

The process to obtain an apartment is simple. Just follow the steps below:
Step 1: Look through the detailed description, floor plans, and photos of our studio and one-bedroom apartments.
Step 2: Apply during application widow: The 2026-2027 application will be available on Tuesday, April 7th.
Step 3: You will be asked in a follow up email for some additional information, which you'll need to respond to. Responding to this request will put you on the list.
Step 4: If there is a vacancy you will be contacted, we will provide you with the Residence Agreement to sign and will request payment from you.
There are some significant differences about Fordham off-campus housing. Please review the information below prior to applying. We want to ensure that our housing is a good fit for you!
Please Keep in Mind:
- We do not rent on a month to month basis, all rentals are based on the academic calendar and are done by semester.
- Apartments cannot be sublet or assigned to someone else (you cannot let your friends use your apartment when you are out of town).
- Overnight guests are typically allowed to stay overnight for up to a week. Exceptions may be granted by the manager.
- Major changes to the apartments, including painting and appliance installation, are prohibited.
- All units are smoke-free and pet-free.
- The majority of apartments are single occupancy only (no roommates). A limited number of apartments are available for occupancy by a legally married student and his/her spouse. We do not have housing for children at this time.
- Other rules apply, which are stipulated in the housing agreement which anyone offered an apartment will be able to review.
