Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice

Be part of the largest annual Jesuit, Catholic, social justice gathering in the United States! The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, sponsored by the Ignatian Solidarity Network, happening on November 14th-15th, is an opportunity for members of Jesuit schools and organizations to come together to learn, reflect, pray, network, and advocate in Washington DC in the context of social justice and solidarity. IFTJ is grounded in a rich history of honoring the Jesuits and their companions who were martyred in El Salvador in 1989 and has focused on social justice themes such as immigration reform, environmental justice, racial justice, and many others.

The theme of IFTJ 2026 is "Amplify: Peace | Justice | Community" which "calls us first to step back from the din and listen for God’s voice and the voices that too often go unheard. First we listen. Then we speak. A single voice can carry, but a chorus can shake a room. Like waves building on each other, our voices rise and grow until what was once just noise is now a choir of witnesses that can’t be ignored.

Saint Óscar Romero reminded us that 'Each one of you has to be God’s microphone.' We are called not only to hear the cries of the earth and the marginalized but to amplify them through advocacy, solidarity, and action. We pass the mic to those who need to be heard."

Furthermore, there will be social justice follow-up programming in the spring semester. For more information about the Teach-in, please visit the IFTJ 2026 website.
