Caitlin Waickman

Caitlin insights into the dynamics of the city informed her research on housing and tenant's rights, the subjects of her MA Thesis. Caitlin now works for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development as a Research Assistant for Housing Policy.

Courtney Ball

Courtney combined her thesis on the "Social Capital of adolescent African American Girls" with her passion for creating a professional pipeline for women of color, and started her own non-profit. CMB Professional Development Agency provides an avenue for millennial women of color to network, learn and succeed.  Courtney is currently Director of Human Resources at Eurasia Group.

Jahmila Martin

Jahmila's passion for non-profit social justice informed her thesis "New York's Domestic Workers: Non-Profit Organizations, Urban Community, and Implementation of the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights." She is currently Program Director of Veterans Aftercare Programs with HELP USA, where she leads teams in the delivery of on-site and community-based services to veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and to help veteran families achieve housing stability.

Jamie Feigenbaum

For Alumni Jamie, the Urban Studies Program "...taught me where urban issues are, how to spot them, how to question them, how other professions are attempting to handle them.." Jaime now works as Audience Marketing Manager at Expedia Group. Marketing and promotional campaigns are essential to urban development projects. "The creation and success of the High Line could not have happened without promotional initiatives."

Patrick Verel 

For his Master's Thesis on "New York City Graffiti Murals: Cultural Treasures Worth Supporting," Patrick Verel traveled across New York City to learn how graffiti murals are created. He discovered that they are signs of vitality that deserve official recognition. Patrick's thesis was published by Schiffer Books. He is presently Associate Editor at Fordham News.

Zellnor Myrie

Urban Studies alumnus Zellnor Myrie followed his Urban Studies MA to Cornell Law. He is currently New York State Senator for District 20 in Brooklyn.
