M.A. in Medieval Studies Learning Goals

Upon completion of the Master of Arts program in Medieval Studies, graduate students will have acquired:

  • A complex understanding of the medieval world based on interdisciplinary study and multiple methodologies
  • An appreciation of the cultural heritage of the medieval period firmly grounded in historical research
  • The ability to conduct scholarly research in two distinct areas of specialization
  • The skillset to express themselves in the academic register appropriate to their areas of specialization, both in writing and in oral delivery
  • The opportunity to gain experience in contributing to Digital Humanities projects
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others
  • The insight necessary to make informed choices about their further careers, both in academic and non-academic professions, and the preparation to submit successful applications
