Mission and Vision

Rooted in our Jesuit-Catholic identity, the Office of the CDO advances Fordham’s shared commitment to create and sustain a diverse, inclusive, and just campus community in which all members thrive through strategic and purposeful collaborations across the university and in our neighboring communities in the Bronx and Manhattan.

The Work of Anti-Racism

In June 2020, Fordham News spoke with University Trustee Anthony Carter, FCRH ’76, and Rafael Zapata, Fordham’s chief diversity officer, special assistant to the president for diversity, and associate vice president for academic affairs, about racism and Fordham’s place in the conversation. In a candid discussion, they reflected on their personal experiences and talked about how the University is addressing the work of anti-racism.
