Student Testimonials

The Fordham-SKKU Summer Institute in International Law was an incredible experience that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

Class was interesting and fun, and it was especially fascinating to have discussions with the Korean students to understand their perspectives. We learned about how different courts and legal systems interact with each other, and the delicate balance between countries’ executive and judicial branches, discussing both historical cases and current events. It changed the way I see the world.

There were field trips to the Korean National Assembly, the Constitutional Court, and the Supreme Court. Everywhere we went, we received a warm welcome and special treatment. At the Supreme Court, two Justices even sat down for a Q&A session with us. Then of course there’s Seoul, one of the greatest and most delicious cities in the world. When I look back on the trip, I think about all the people I never thought I’d meet, and all the places I never thought I’d go. It really was magical, and I feel so lucky that I participated in the program.

"In terms of the coursework, I was glad that we touched on some of the important cases in international law and I thought it was helpful to have some familiarity with international law cases and concepts before I took US Foreign Policy Law in the fall semester. Also, I enjoyed listening to my colleagues' playlists during breaks.

The program led to a summer associate position at one of the major law firms in Korea.

There, I was able to get exposure to various legal works and network with attorneys and other interns at the firm. I highly recommend this program."
