David M. Cohn serves as Counsel to the Investigations Division at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office.  He previously served as Chief Appellate Attorney at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office and, before that, as Counsel for Legal Initiatives and Senior Supervising Appellate Counsel at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.  Ater law school, Prof. Cohn served as a staff law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and, later, as a law clerk to Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye of the New York Court of Appeals.

Prof. Cohn has taught in the Fordham Clinical Externship Program since 2007.  In addition, he teaches continuing legal education (CLE) classes and trains prosecutors statewide.  In 2015, the New York Prosecutors Training Institute (NYPTI) named him Appellate Prosecutor of the Year.  He currently chairs the Criminal Justice Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Prof. Cohn graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as a comment editor for the University of Chicago Legal Forum.
