Ellen-Louise is counsel at Walsh Guevara LLP, which she joined in 2017. She advises the firm and its clients on cross-border disputes, investments, and related matters. Her main area of practice is international arbitration, including commercial and investment treaty arbitration. She is a member of the bars of New York, England & Wales, and Paris and has experience under both common and civil law systems. Ellen-Louise has acted as counsel in numerous commercial arbitrations and investment arbitrations relating to businesses involved in oil and gas, mining, construction, and infrastructure. She has experience arbitrating under various rule regimes, including those of the ICC, LCIA, CEPANI, ICSID, and UNCITRAL. She also has experience in enforcement proceedings and cross border litigation.

Before joining Walsh Guevara, Ellen-Louise practiced international arbitration and litigation at law firms in London and Paris where her clients consisted mainly of large international corporations and investors from around the world. Ellen-Louise is a member of several professional associations including Arbitral Women, the International Bar Association (IBA) and Young ICCA. Ellen-Louise speaks at conferences and publishes in international arbitration. Ellen-Louise graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She holds an LLB in Commercial Law from BPP Law School in London. She also holds an LL.M from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Ellen-Louise is a dual citizen of the United States and Belgium and has lived in France, Portugal, Spain, England, and Kenya. She is fluent in Dutch, French and Spanish and speaks Portuguese at an intermediate level.
