Eric Tuchmann is Senior Legal Advisor for the American Arbitration Association–International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA-ICDR). Until March 2025, he served as the AAA-ICDR’s Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary. 

Over more than 25 years, Mr. Tuchmann has contributed extensively to arbitration policy initiatives, rule drafting, training, and the development of ethical guidelines and due process protocols across a wide range of practice areas. In his prior AAA-ICDR roles, he oversaw the organization’s legal affairs, managed legal department staff, and handled regulatory, governance, and compliance matters. He also led the AAA-ICDR’s legislative and government affairs office and the international operations and strategy, including establishing a case management center in Singapore.

He is a member of the AAA-ICDR Foundation’s Board of Directors, a Vice President of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions, and an observer to the United Nations’ UNCITRAL Working Groups II and III. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Justice Technology Association and the Uniform Law Commission’s Joint Editorial Board on Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Additionally, he is a member of the State Bar of California’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Certification Working Group, which is developing a certification program for ADR firms, providers, and practitioners.

Mr. Tuchmann received the ABA International Law Section’s Outstanding International Corporate Counsel Award in 2023 and was named a Notable General Counsel by Crain’s New York in 2024.
