Marla Alhadeff is Managing Counsel at McKinsey & Company. Until 2020, Marla was Deputy General Counsel at the Bank of New York Mellon, serving as the Global Head of both Litigation and Technology. In that role, she was responsible for all litigation matters globally and played a senior strategic role in managing the most challenging and high-profile litigation and enforcement matters facing the company.

Marla also supervised the legal function responsible for information technology, cybersecurity, intellectual property, privacy, marketing and procurement. Before joining the Bank of New York Mellon in 2008, she was Senior Counsel at Deutsche Bank, where she managed various significant litigation and enforcement matters.

Earlier in her career, Marla served as an Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York. She held various leadership positions there, including Chief Appellate Attorney, Deputy Chief of the Civil Division and Chief of the Civil Division. She was recognized with a number of awards, including the Stimson Medal for Outstanding Contributions to the Office of the US Attorney and the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service.

Marla started her career as a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton. She earned her J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School, and her B.A. at the State University of New York at Binghamton.
