Neurodiversity Program (MINDS)
Mentoring and Inspiring NeuroDivergent Students
ADD/ADHD Cohort
The MINDS Program at Fordham is designed for neurodivergent students who want to build a strong community while sharpening their executive functioning, professional, and academic skills needed to be successful at Fordham and for life after graduation.
Why Join MINDS?
We provide a supportive "home base" where you can grow alongside peers who understand your journey. Our program focuses on three core pillars:
- Built-in Community: Transitioning to college is easier when you have a dedicated small group. Through monthly lunches and group outings, you’ll build lasting friendships in a low-pressure environment.
- Academic and Executive Functioning Skills: Beyond the classroom, we help you master the skills that matter—from time management to organization to sustaining attention. There will be three group meetings a month focused on a new skill each for each meeting.
- Personalized Academic Coaching: Stay on top of your goals with weekly 1-on-1 sessions focused on organization and breaking down complex assignments.
Life in MINDS: Beyond the Classroom
We believe the best connections happen outside the library. This past year, our members didn't just study together—they built a community through shared experiences.
- Monthly Lunch Dates: Every month, the group meets for lunch at the campus dining hall to catch up and decompress.
- Game Day Vibes: Cheering on the Rams at home football and basketball games.
- The Best of NYC: From the lights of a Broadway musical to trips to the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Garden, and Arthur Avenue, we take full advantage of our incredible backyard.
MINDS participants creating memories and building academic and professional skills.
