Move-in at Fordham

Saturday, August 22, 2026: New Student Move-In (First Year/Transfer) at assigned move-in time slots.

Returning student move-in: Monday, August 24, 2026 through Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Move-In Step-By-Step Process

  • Move-In Logistics: Step-by-Step for Lincoln Center - First-Year/Transfer Students

    Our staff and Orientation Leaders will be available throughout the day to guide you through the move-in process.

    Step 1: Arrive During Your Assigned Move-In Time

    • At the start of your scheduled move-in time slot, enter Lincoln Center campus via Columbus Avenue.
    • Turn onto:
      • 62nd Street for McKeon Hall, or
      • 60th Street for McMahon Hall.
    • Public Safety officers will close the streets to through traffic and direct you to the appropriate unloading location.
    • Please pull up perpendicular to the curb with your trunk facing the curb. 

    Step 2: Unload Your Belongings

    • Orientation Leaders will assist with unloading your vehicle and placing your belongings into rolling move-in bins provided by the university. Please do not unload your belongings directly onto the curb.
    • Please label all belongings with the student's name and room number before arriving.

    Step 3: Student Check-In

    • While belongings are being unloaded, the student should proceed to the check-in location to receive:
      • Room key
      • Mailbox information
      • Orientation materials

    Step 4: Park or Wait

    • If you are driving: Once your vehicle has been unloaded, move it to a nearby parking garage or to a legal street parking spot. Family members or guests may remain with the belongings in the elevator line while the driver parks. Please do not leave vehicles unattended at the curb at any time. 
    • If you are arriving by car service or on foot, family members or guests should remain with their belongings in the elevator line after unloading.

    Step 5: Proceed to Your Room

    • The student should rejoin their family or guests before entering the elevator.
    • In McKeon Hall, on move-in day, two elevators will be designated for going up and two for coming down to help keep traffic moving efficiently. In McMahon Hall, elevators will operate normally.

    Step 6: Settle In

    • Once you arrive at your room, Orientation Leaders will assist in unloading your belongings from the move-in bins.
    • After everything is in your room, you will have time to unpack and get settled.

    Step 7: Join Welcome Activities

    • After you have settled into your room, make your way to the day's Welcome and Orientation activities. There will be a Student Services Resource Fair, drop-in hours within Admissions and Financial Aid, and a Multicultural and First Gen Reception happening throughout the day. Please join us for the start of our formal programming at 1:30 p.m. in LL Pope Auditorium or 140w McNally for the President’s Address & Dean’s Welcome.

    • Turn onto:
    • Public Safety officers will direct you to the appropriate unloading location/residence hall

    Step 2: Unload Your Belongings

    • You will be directed to your residence hall to unload
    • Orientation Leaders will unload your vehicle and place your belongings into rolling move-in bins. Please do not unload your belongings directly onto the curb.
    • Please label all belongings with the student's name and room number before arriving.

    Step 3: Student Check-In

    • While belongings are being unloaded, the student should proceed to the check-in location to receive:
      • Room key
      • Orientation materials
    • Depending on your Residence Hall, you will pick up the key to your room from the following area: 
      • Alumni Court South: First Floor Lounge
      • Loschert Hall: First Floor Lounge 
      • Loyola Hall and Faber Halls: O’Keefe Commons 
      • Martyrs’ Court LaLande and Goupil: LaLande First Floor Lounge
      • Martyrs’ Court Jogues: First Floor Lounge
      • Queens’ Court: Bishops’ Lounge
      • Tierney Hall: Outside Tierney Hall 
      • Finlay Hall: First Floor Lounge

    Step 4: Park or Wait

    Step 5: Proceed to Your Room

    • The student should head to their room after picking up their keys and any other information from the Residential Life staff. 
    • Family members can also head up to the room as well. 

    Step 6: Settle In

    • Orientation Leaders will assist in unloading your belongings from the move-in bins.
    • If you shipped items ahead of time, you can pick them up at the Post Office in the McShane Student Center
    • After everything is in your room, you will have time to unpack and get settled.

    Step 7: Join Welcome Activities

    • After you have settled into your room, make your way to the day's Welcome and Orientation activities. There will be a Student Services Resource Fair, drop-in hours within Admissions and Financial Aid, and a Multicultural and First Gen Reception happening throughout the day. Please join us in the Rose Hill Gym at 3:30 PM for Fordham Families 101 followed by the President’s Address at 4:30 PM.

    McMahon Hall: 

    Our staff will be available throughout the day to guide you through the move-in process.

    Step 1: Arrive During Your Assigned Move-In Time

    • At the start of your scheduled move-in time slot, enter Lincoln Center campus via Columbus Avenue. Turn onto 60th Street for McMahon Hall.
    • Public Safety officers will close the streets to through traffic and direct you to the appropriate unloading location.
    • Please pull up perpendicular to the curb with your trunk facing the curb. 

    Step 2: Unload Your Belongings

    • Unload your vehicle and place your belongings into rolling move-in bins provided by the university. Bins can be acquired at the check-in table in McMahon Hall Room 109, please be ready to provide identification. 
    • Please label all belongings with the student's name and room number before arriving.

    Step 3: Student Check-In

    • While belongings are being unloaded by family/guests, the student should proceed to the check-in location to receive:
      • Room key
      • Mailbox information
      • Additional move-in materials

    Step 4: Park or Wait

    • If you are driving: Once your vehicle has been unloaded, move it to a nearby parking garage or to a legal street parking spot. Family members or guests may remain with the belongings in the elevator line while the driver parks. Please do not leave vehicles unattended at the curb at any time. 
    • If you are arriving by car service or on foot, family members or guests should remain with their belongings in the elevator line after unloading.

    Step 5: Proceed to Your Room

    • Once you arrive at your room, unload your belongings from the move-in bins and return the moving bins back to the check-in area.
    • After everything is in your room, you will have time to unpack and get settled.
    • Please utilize trash rooms on each floor to discard garbage and any unpacking materials. 

    Wilshire Plaza: 

    Move-In Instructions

    Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth move-in experience.

    Step 1: Arrive During Your Scheduled Move-In Time

    • Your scheduled move-in date and time is Monday, August 24, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. 
    • Please arrive during this window, as keys will only be available for pickup during your scheduled move-in time.
    • Please be aware that other students may also be moving in during this time, so you should be prepared to share the elevator.
    • Please do not move outside of these permitted hours. Violations of the moving agreement with property management may result in consequences.

    Step 3: Pick Up Your Keys

    • You may pick up your apartment keys at Wilshire Plaza during your scheduled move-in time only.
    • If you experience a major travel delay, such as a canceled flight, please contact the Graduate Housing Manager at 646-773-1936 or the Office of Residential Life at 212-636-7100 as soon as possible.

    Step 4: Break Down Your Moving Boxes

    • To comply with NYC fire safety regulations, please break down and flatten all moving boxes after unpacking.
    • Place the flattened boxes behind the trash bins in the trash room on your floor, which is located in Stairwell A.

    Step 5: Report Any Apartment Concerns

    • When you arrive, please inspect your apartment. If you notice any maintenance or repair concerns, notify the Wilshire Plaza front desk so that the appropriate repairs can be coordinated.
  • Move-In Logistics: Step-by-Step for Rose Hill - Returning Students

    Step 1: Arrive on campus on Monday, August 24th and Tuesday, August 25th between 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at any time either day. 

    • Enter Rose Hill campus via 2691 Southern Blvd if driving 
    • You can also use other entrances to campus if using public transportation
    • Public Safety will direct you to your residence hall. 

    Step 2: Head to your Assigned Residence Hall 

    • Please arrive at your assigned residence hall. Residential Life staff will be present during these times to provide you with your room key and other important information. 
    • If you are assigned to Belmont Community Housing (off-campus housing), you should head directly to Arthur House: 2451-2457 Arthur Avenue to check in. 

    Step 3: Unload your vehicle and bring items to your Residence Hall Room

    • Residential Life staff will have a limited number of bins to use to transport items up to your assigned room 
    • If there are none available, there will be a waitlist process for the bins that the building staff can help you with. 
    • Optional: bring a small hand cart or dolly to help with bringing items

    Step 4: Park or Wait

    Step 5: Settle in and Unpack

    • Settle into your new home and unpack your belongings.
    • If you shipped items ahead of time, you can pick them up at the Post Office in the McShane Student Center
    • Please plan to attend your RA floor meetings held on Tuesday, August 25th in the evening. You will receive communication from your building Resident Director and/or your Resident Assistant.
