Board of Trustees

The Fordham University Board of Trustees is currently comprised of 38 members, primarily graduates of the University's various schools, members of their families, and members of the Jesuit community. The President of the University is an ex officio voting member of the Board. Operating under the laws of New York State and by University Statute, the Board is responsible for directing and managing all business and affairs of the University. It serves as the final authority over all strategic and operational matters, including the annual operating budget, changes in tuition and fees, salary and benefits, and capital investments.

Over the past several years, the Board of Trustees has approved major transformative initiatives to guide Fordham into the future. Highlights include approving a comprehensive revision of the undergraduate core curriculum, approving the University’s strategic plan —focusing on student-centered resources, expanding financial aid, and bolstering investments in STEM fields. These actions build on a deep history of trustee support, through which past and present Board members have helped fund over 20 endowed chairs, dozens of scholarship funds, and state-of-the-art campus developments, including the modern McShane Campus Center,  Campbell-Salice-Conley Rose Hill Residence Hall, the McKeon Residence Hall at Lincoln Center, the Lincoln Center Law School building, and the revitalization of Hughes Hall. 

We take pride in the fact that 42 percent of Fordham’s Trustees represent first-generation college graduates. As the first in their families to attend university, these leaders bring invaluable perspectives on accessibility, student success, and the educational promise that defines Fordham's mission.
