Shabbat and Holidays
Shalom!
To find out more about our current events, check out our calendar.
Shabbat & Holiday Meals
Find community at Shabbat dinners, festive holiday meals, and seasonal celebrations like our community-wide Rosh Hashanah dinner, Seder, or Chanukkah parties with daily menorah lightings on both campuses. Find us at special events during move-in, parents’ weekend, and commencement.
Jewish Learning & Skills
Deepen your knowledge through Judaism 101 classes or Jewish Skills Labs where we will workshop blessings or (for example) shake a lulav. Or join our B’Mitzvah cohort that will form after the Judaism 101 sessions! Programs are open to all students and help connect tradition with everyday life.
One-Off Events & Social Gatherings
Connect with peers at events like A Slice of Shalom, Ice Cream Socials, and more. Trips to local synagogues, museums, and community partners provide opportunities to explore Jewish history and culture in New York City.
Having Tough Conversations
Need a space to wrestle with big issues? Join informal discussions at Sichah (conversation) to talk with curiosity and respect about Israel, antisemitism, bias, Jewish identity, gender, and more.
Pastoral Care & Community Support
Fordham Jewish Life offers regular spiritual guidance and support. Find Rabbi Katja Vehlow across campus spaces to provide care, answer questions, and foster community.
Special Celebrations
Mark major milestones and observances, including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Passover Seders, Tu BiShvat, Yom HaShoah, and our yearly B’Mitzvah celebration. These events mix joy, community, thoughtfulness and good food.
