You’ll also have the opportunity to perform in student ensembles and take courses at the renowned Juilliard School, a short walk from our Lincoln Center campus.

Our holistic approach to a music education means you can take a wide array of courses ranging from theory and technique to performance. You might take classes like Ear Training, The Musical Theatre of Stephen Sondheim, or Music, Protest, and Social Change.

As a music major, you’ll be prepared for careers in a range of areas including performance, education, business, and more. Apart from music, you’ll also study a broad liberal arts curriculum that develops critical thinking skills that can be applied to any field.

At Fordham, you’ll use AI as a tool to enhance your learning. Our program will equip you with the skills to navigate the ever-changing landscape of AI in the workforce. As a music major, you might use AI to augment audio production, streamline sheet music creation, or aid in ear-training.
You’ll also be able to earn credentials and paid micro-internships through IBM SkillsBuild’s Getting Started with AI course. All Fordham students and graduates have access to AI training through RamConnect, the University’s alumni and experiential learning platform.
Above all, you’ll learn skills that can’t be replaced by AI, such as critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
