Honors Program for History Students

Rose Hill Fordham College Honors Program

History Major
Fordham students enrolled in the Honors Program must fulfill 10 History courses to graduate with a major in History:

Four history courses must be taken as part of the Honors Program (Ancient, Medieval, Early Modern Europe, and Contemporary History).

The remaining six courses will include 5 electives (one of which must be a "global" history course and one an American History course) and one Departmental Seminar. Students may substitute up to one AP or two Study Abroad Credits as electives. The Honors Program Thesis may be counted as a Departmental Seminar if done under the advisement of a History Department faculty member.

History Minor
Students in the Honors Program must complete 6 history courses to graduate with a minor in History. Four history courses may be taken as part of the Honors Program (Ancient, Medieval, Early Modern Europe, and Contemporary History).

The remaining two must be upper-level electives offered by the Fordham History Department. One of those two must be a “global” history course. AP credits and Study Abroad Credits may not be accepted.
