Transfer Student Scholarships & Grants

Fordham offers the following scholarship and grant opportunities for transfer students. 
 
Receipt of these scholarships and grants requires full-time enrollment. Additional renewal requirements are detailed below. 
 
A financial aid package that is inclusive of all aid opportunities will be provided to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens upon submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CSS Profile. Dean's Scholarship

  • The Dean's Scholarship for transfer students is an annual award of $20,000. Typically, 10% of admitted students are recipients of this award. To be considered for this award, students exhibit strong academic performance in a rigorous college/university curriculum (3.75+ gpa); as well as present exceptional personal characteristics, commitment, leadership, and/or service. All transfer applicants are eligible to be considered for this award and no additional application is required. Notification is made at the time of admission.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship

  • The $10,000/year Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship is awarded to transfer students who are Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members on the basis of demonstrating outstanding academic success in a community college curriculum. This competitive award also considers a student's individual experiences and contributions to their school and community. All transfer applicants are eligible to be considered for this award and no additional application is required. Notification is made at the time of admission.

International Loyola Scholarship

  • This scholarship is offered to international transfer students (non-immigrant visa holders) only. The $12,500/year Loyola Scholarship is awarded to entering transfer students who show high academic performance and leadership ability. No additional application is required for consideration. Notification is made at the time of admission.

    • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
    • A 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct 

Loyola Scholarship (for U.S. Citizens & Eligible Non-Citizens)

  • The Loyola Scholarship is awarded to entering transfer students who show high academic performance and leadership ability and have not been offered one of the scholarships described above. The Loyola Scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $12,500 and is an annual award which will be applied toward tuition charges for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham. Notification is made by the Office of Student Financial Services upon completion of the financial aid process

Metro Grant

  • The $15,000/year Metro Grant is offered to entering 2024-2025 transfer students who commute to Fordham from their permanent residence in New York City or the surrounding areas. It may be received for up to eight semesters (fall and spring only) for eligible students who continue to commute from their permanent residence. A student may indicate their intent to live at home through submission of the Common Application. U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens are eligible to be considered for this award. Notification is made at the time of admission.

    • Students to continue to commute from their permanent residence at the time of admission

Need Based Grant

  • This gift aid is offered based on financial need and academic standing. Notification is made by the Office of Student Financial Services upon completion of the financial aid process

    • Annual filing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • Demonstration of financial need
    • Maintain full-time status
    • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
    • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct

Tuition Award

  • This gift aid is offered based on academic standing. Notification is made by the Office of Student Financial Services upon completion of the financial aid process
