Urban Plunge Theme

The theme for this year’s plunge is SEE–Solidarity, Empathy, and Empowerment. Together, we can be the change we want to SEE.

Solidarity

Solidarity encourages students to be in community with our neighbors in the Bronx and Manhattan, and to build bonds with their peers. We are grounded in a spirit of bothered excellence, and stand with one another. We cultivate a space where we call people in, learn from one another, and meet folks where they are.

Empathy

Empathy reminds us to see the whole person in everyone we interact with. Everyone in the program - and in our NYC neighborhoods - comes from different backgrounds and experiences. We embrace an empathetic, “love-in-action” approach to new things, branching out into NYC and making meaningful connections with our community and each other.

Empowerment

Empowerment aims to equip students to be engaged with their communities throughout their time at Fordham and beyond. We have a strong sense of mission where equity, dignity, and compassion inform our thoughts and actions. We feel ready to be an advocate for our community and each other.
