Dina Zingaro

Dina Zingaro is a PhD student in Theological and Social Ethics at Fordham University. Her research coalesces around two main themes: developing an Orthodox Christian sexual ethics grounded in embodiment, personhood, and theosis; and examining how ethical systems shape and are shaped by theology and law—specifically how theologies and their resulting ethical systems permeate U.S. legal concepts like rights, equality, and religious freedom. 

She holds a JD from Harvard Law School ('26) and a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School ('26). At Harvard, she received the Presidential Scholarship for her commitment to public service and the Presidential Public Service Fellowship for her work with the Southern Poverty Law Center. She also served as a legal intern for GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), the legal organization that argued and won Obergefell v. Hodges.

Dina is trained in Orthodox preaching at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. She has preached regularly in Orthodox churches since October 2024 (her sermons can be watched here). She also teaches a preaching course for Orthodox women through Axia and has contributed to the work of the St. Phoebe Center, which advocates for the revival of the ordained female diaconate in Orthodoxy. 

Prior to graduate school, Dina spent eight years at CBS News: four at the CBS Evening News as the researcher and editorial assistant for journalist and anchor Scott Pelley, and four as an associate producer at 60 Minutes where she and her team produced Emmy-nominated stories. Today, Dina continues to advance religious literacy in journalism through her experience designing workshops for journalists and her service on the board of the Religion News Association.
