Access the WiFi Network

Indoors and out, nearly every square inch of Fordham's campuses provide access to the wireless network. To gain access to the network for the first time, point your device to Connect-Fordham-WiFi. Follow the prompts, or consult the instructions for your specific device in the drop down menu below. 18 FAQs about Fordham WiFi may answer questions about the WiFi that are not addressed on this page.

During the initial process for preparing your device to access the wireless network, you'll be given the choice to join as a faculty, staff, or student, or as a guest. Depending on how you decide to join the network, your device will ultimately be connected to either "Fordham-S," the network for faculty, staff, and students, or "Fordham-P," for guests, once you have completed the authentication process. Compare Fordham-S with Fordham-P.

Certain devices and activities are prohibited from the wireless network. For current guidelines, consult the acceptable use policy for the wireless network.

Use the information below to connect and configure your wireless device. If you need assistance, contact IT Customer Care.

Game Consoles and Media Devices

Fordham University now allows connectivity to the network on all major game consoles and media streaming devices (i.e. Roku, AppleTV, etc.). These devices are now supported on both the wired and wireless network.

These devices need to be registered in order to connect. This is accomplished by a simple self-registration process. Steps for connecting and registering your devices are:

1. Connect your game console or media device to the network (Connect-Fordham-WiFi wireless network or via wired ethernet cable)
2. Navigate to your device's network settings and obtain the MAC address (Google it!)
3. From a computer that is connected to Fordham's wireless or wired dorm networks, navigate to http://www.fordham.edu/enrolldevice
4. Enter your AccessIT ID credentials, agree to the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and sign in
5. Enter the MAC address of your game console or media device
6. Select the type of device
7. Provide your cell phone number and select your phone provider
8. Click on Enroll Device
9. Once enrollment is complete, please allow 2 - 5 minutes for the device to connect

Customers will be allowed to register up to 3 devices.

Registered devices will remain active for up to one year.

Fordham IT highly recommends the use of the wired ethernet connection in your dorm room (instead of wireless) in order to ensure a more reliable connection.
