Orthodox Christian Studies Center Publications

The Orthodox Christian Studies Center publishes two book series with Fordham University Press: (1) Orthodox Christianity and Contemporary Thought, edited by George Demacopoulos and Aristotle Papanikolaou, and (2) Christian Arabic Texts in Translation, edited by Stephen J. Davis.

In 2018, the Center will launch the Journal of Orthodox Christian Studiesa double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal publishing leading scholarship on all aspects of Orthodox Christianity.

The Center has also published Orthodox Readings of Augustine (SVS Press, 2008), edited by George Demacopoulos and Aristotle Papanikolaou. This book not only presents Eastern Orthodox readings of the great Latin theologian, but also demonstrates the very nature of theological consensus in ecumenical dialogue, from a referential starting point of the ancient and great Fathers. This collection exemplifies how, once, the Latin and Byzantine churches, from a deep communion of the faith that transcended linguistic, cultural and intellectual differences, sang from the same page a harmonious song of the beauty of Christ. The book features essays by: Lewis Ayres, John Behr, David Bradshaw, Brian E. Daley, Elizabeth Fisher, Reinhard Flogaus, Carol Harrison, David Bentley Hart, Joseph T. Lienhard, Andrew Louth, Jean-Luc Marion, and David Tracy.
