Veterans Rights Project


Providing Legal Information to Low-Income Veterans

The mission of the Feerick Center Veterans Rights Project (FCVRP) is to serve low-income veterans through Know-Your-Rights (KYRs) presentations and legal referrals. FCVRP recruits, trains, and supports volunteer attorneys and law students to provide legal information (via these presentations and consultations) to veterans on three topics: VA disability benefits, consumer debt, and child support modifications and enforcement.

Virtual Veterans Day Legal Clinic

New Dates! January 23-27, 2023

The FCVRP will hold a Virtual Veterans Legal on January 23-January 27, 2023. This program will provide free limited-scope legal services to veterans residing in New York State. Our program will consist of virtual know-your-rights presentations (via Zoom) followed by one-on-one legal consultations (via phone or video). Check back soon for further details.

  • Consumer debt 
  • Discharge upgrades 
  • Family law 
  • Housing 
  • Micro-enterprise and small business 
  • NYC veterans legal protections 
  • Tax
  • VA benefits
  • Wills and end-of-life planning 
  • Women veterans, military sexual trauma

Eligibility: Veterans, persons involved in the military, and family members residing in New York City or New York State.
