CPC-Hosted Employer Receptions at Fordham Law School
Early in each spring semester, the Career Planning Center hosts two Employer Receptions at Fordham Law School to introduce our new 1L class to employers who participate in our Fall On-Campus Interview Program. In January 2023, we are pleased to return to hosting these receptions in person!
Each reception can accommodate up to 30 employers. The Receptions will be held in the Conference Space on the 2nd Floor of the Law School building (150 West 62nd Street) on the following dates/times:
- Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 12:15 p.m. – 2 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 12:15 p.m. – 2 p.m.
For the Spring 2023 semester, there will be no catering fee (nor any other fee) for employers participating in these receptions.
NOTE: Per University policies, employers' representatives attending the Receptions will be required to present proof of vaccination in order to enter the Law School building.
Participating employers are welcome to have up to 5 representative attend a Reception at any one time, bring marketing materials, a poster (with easel), and other materials.
Employers are invited to bring marketing materials (including a poster/easel), and other materials. There will also be a Raffle for students at each Reception; employers are welcome to participate in the Raffle by providing a giveaway that can be offered as a prize.
Why participate in the Raffle?
The purpose of the Raffle is not to provide the students with prizes. Rather, the purpose of the Raffle is to help break the ice. By participating in the Raffle, you make it easier for students to approach your representatives at the Reception and initiate a conversation.
Employers who participate in the Raffle will be provided with a fishbowl and raffle-entry cards. In order to enter the Raffle to "win" your donated item, students will have to enter their contact information on the cards and drop them into your fishbowl. At the end of the Reception, you will: choose a winner from the fishbowl, provide the name of the winner to a member of our staff, who will notify the student, and take all the raffle cards back to your office, thereby giving you the contact information of all the students you spoke with at the Reception.
LOTTERY: The Career Planning Center will conduct a lottery of interested employers to determine which employers will participate in each of the Employer Receptions. Employers interested in participating in this lottery should complete this online form by 5:00 pm on Monday, December 5.
All employers will receive an email by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 6 informing them whether they received a spot at an Employer Reception and, if so, for which date they received the spot.
As a separate lottery will be run for each of the two Employer Receptions, we ask that you enter the lottery for both dates, and rank the two dates in order of preference. (You will be able to do that when you complete the above-linked form.)
