Vanessa A. Nadal is global marketing counsel at The Estée Lauder Companies where she draws on her science background to assess complex performance and provide legal review of advertising claims for cosmetic, skincare, and makeup products made in all media globally.

She is also the co-creator and co-professor of the first law school course on U.S. Cosmetics Regulation which covers governmental, industrial, and societal regulations for making and selling cosmetics.

After earning her B.S. in chemical engineering at MIT, Ms. Nadal began her professional career as a research and development scientist at Johnson & Johnson. There, she developed and tested innovative technologies for skincare products. Drawing on her critical thinking skills, Ms. Nadal turned her sights to law.

Upon completing her J.D. at Fordham Law, Ms. Nadal was a litigation associate at Jones Day, where she worked on federal, state, and international disputes. She has experience in a variety of subjects, including FDA, FTC and CRA law, intellectual property and contract law, and the False Claims Act.
