The purpose of the Compliance and Technology organization is to provide practical knowledge and skills necessary to navigate a career in compliance, prepare students for the technologies used, and network with compliance professionals.

The organization aims to:

  • Foster a deeper understanding of compliance issues and developments.
  • Engage with practitioners, academics, and policymakers through seminars, panel discussions, and workshops.
  • Provide career development opportunities through mentoring, networking events and professional interaction.

Jyoti Srivastava

Jyoti Srivastava, President
LL.M (US Law)

Jyoti is an LL.M (Class of 2026) student with a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Compliance Law from the University of Pittsburgh. She brings 14+ years of litigation experience from India and has worked extensively in ADR. She is a staffer for the Fordham International Law Journal, a former NYC Bar Student Ambassador, and a participant in the International Association of Women Judges Conference. She founded a legal platform in India focused on analysis, advocacy, and student training, maintaining strong community outreach. She also contributed to the Delhi High Court Golden Jubilee Book.

Natia Kuprava

Natia Kuprava, Vice President
LL.M Candidate (Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law)

Natia is an LL.M (Class of 2026) candidate specializing in Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law from Georgia (the country), as well as a Graduate Certificate in Public Communication from Baruch College. She has legal, policy, and compliance experience in both the United States and Georgia, including roles as Senior Policy Associate at a U.S. nonprofit, General Counsel and Compliance Manager at an international insurance company, and Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office and a regulatory agency. Her work has included legislative drafting, lobbying compliance, and policy development, with a focus on law and economics, financial regulation, and public policy.

Carlota Benedí Rivera

Carlota Benedí Rivera, Secretary
LL.M Candidate (International Dispute Resolution)

Carlota is an LL.M (Class of 2026) candidate in International Dispute Resolution at Fordham. She holds dual degrees in Law and International Relations from Universidad CEU San Pablo and is completing a Master’s in AI and Innovation. Her experience includes pro bono work in housing and environmental justice at Lincoln Square Legal Services and legal research at the Audiencia Provincial de Madrid. She is active in moot court, debate leadership, and community initiatives, with a strong interest in combining law, technology, and innovation.

Sophia Schauber

Sophia Schauber, Treasurer
LL.M Candidate (Corporate Compliance)

Sophia is an LL.M (Class of 2027) candidate in Corporate Compliance at Fordham. She earned her law degrees in Germany and completed a two-year legal clerkship qualifying her for the German Bar. Her experience spans private practice, public administration, and the judiciary, focusing on white-collar defense and compliance. She also worked as a research assistant on organized crime at the University of Tübingen and co-authored a related publication. Sophia is interested in compliance, white-collar crime, and emerging technologies.
