Consider one of our credit-bearing classes! Taught by Fordham University faculty, these courses give you the opportunity to earn college credits before officially starting your undergraduate program.

Choose from the following courses:

Business Communication in Leadership (3 credits)

  • Business Communication in Leadership is structured to empower students with essential communication skills tailored for leadership roles in today’s dynamic, tech-driven workplace. Through exploring various technologies and media, students will learn to analyze complex issues, structure persuasive arguments, and convey ideas clearly across various digital and interpersonal contexts.

Intro to Archaeology (3 credits)

  • In Intro to Archaeology, students explore archaeology and the ways artifacts illuminate major cultural developments. Through discussions of current practices and themes, the course provides a foundation in contemporary archaeological approaches, along with a working understanding of material culture, archaeological sites, and the archaeological record.

Intro to Clinical Psychology (4 credits)

  • Through a combination of readings, lecture, discussion, experiential exercises, and site visits, students in Intro to Clinical Psychology will cover the major theoretical approaches to conceptualizing and treating mental illness, while also learning about basic techniques used in the assessment, treatment, and prevention of psychological disorders. They will also discuss current challenges and debates within the field of clinical psychology, and consider the ways that the science and practice of psychology must change in order to meet the needs of diverse populations.

Invitation to Theatre (3 credits)

  • Invitation to Theatre is a joyful yet rigorous deep dive into ensemble-based creation, where the skills of the stage are directly translated into essential life skills. Students use foundational theatre techniques—including dynamic devising, improvisation, and expressive work like clowning—to directly address the two core areas of public speaking and effective collaboration.

The Gabelli Plunge: A Ground Floor Experience (3 credits)

  • The Gabelli Plunge introduces key business concepts and the major business disciplines while creating awareness of the interdependence of these business disciplines—an awareness that is key to operating a successful business. Students will learn what we mean by "business with a purpose," as we together kick off their business journey in the spirit of our mission, “to inspire and empower positive global change, developing students into compassionate business leaders.”

Writing College Life in NYC: A Journey in Reading and Writing (3 credits)

  • In Writing College Life in NYC, students develop writing and reflective thinking skills through an exploration - literary, music, arts and otherwise - of this dynamic and diverse city. By exploring our differences and identifying common ground in NYC through writing, reading, and outings, students will come to reflect on what makes each student unique in their college journey and what makes a college community.
