Abbey Florence
Assistant Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Implementation
Abbey Florence serves as the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Implementation, where she partners with university leadership to advance institution-wide priorities through strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence. Prior to joining Fordham, Abbey held several leadership roles at The New School, where she led enterprise initiatives focused on business transformation, policy and knowledge management, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness. She began her career in higher education at the Institute of Culinary Education, supporting admissions, operations, and institutional initiatives across its New York and Los Angeles campuses.
Originally from Florida, Abbey earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida and is currently pursuing her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. She is passionate about helping people navigate complexity, build shared understanding, and turn ambitious ideas into practical, lasting results. Outside of work, Abbey enjoys traveling, solving puzzles, discovering great coffee shops, and spending time with her husband and their dog.
